Youth Orchestras

Atlanta Festival Youth Orchestras-

The Atlanta Festival Symphony Orchestra offers experienced string, wind, brass, and percussion players the opportunity to explore the rich and challenging literature of full orchestra repertoire.  Over two 10-week periods, AFSO will rehearse in-person, and at the end of this period, the orchestra will culminate with a weekend of rehearsals and a rousing concert performance. Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra-

Established in 1974, the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra provides Atlanta’s most talented and dedicated students an outlet to perform masterworks. Each year, more than three hundred rising 8th to 12th-grade instrumentalists audition for seats in the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (ASYO). The ASYO presents a three-concert series each year and members have exclusive invitations to participate in readings and master classes with the top artists in the instrumental music industry. Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra-

The Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO) program was founded in 2005 at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. As one of the finest pre-college programs in the region, EYSO provides comprehensive orchestral performance opportunities while supporting the pedagogy of school directors and private teachers. All students and parents are offered the opportunity for pre-college counseling, assistance with college and scholarship applications (including Common App and other recommendations), diverse masterclass and seminar offerings, and financial aid advice. Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra -
A part of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra (GSO), GYSO is the largest youth orchestra program in the Southeast and in the top 10 nationally – encompassing five orchestras, a jazz ensemble, a percussion ensemble, Flute and Clarinet Choirs, String Symposium, several chamber ensembles, and the GYSO Choir. 
Founded in 2006, GYSO selects gifted and talented elementary through high school-aged musicians from across the state via competitive auditions. As GYSO members, young men and women continue their musical development in a nurturing and supportive environment while being expected to perform at the highest level during a full season of concerts. Gwinnett Symphony Youth Orchestra-

Founded in 1997, Gwinnett Symphony Youth Orchestra (GSYO) is under the direction of Dr. Gregory Pritchard. Gwinnett Symphony Youth Orchestra provides young, advanced level instrumentalists in the Gwinnett area the opportunity to supplement and enhance their music education through opportunities to learn symphonic literature and high quality orchestral and ensemble training. Membership is by audition or teacher recommendation and is open to all middle school and high school string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays at Discovery High School from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Click HERE for more information

Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra-

MYSO is committed to developing the educational opportunities of Atlanta’s most talented young musicians by offering public performances, sectional coaching, solo performance opportunities, chamber music ensemble training, and scholarship awards for continuing music education. Currently in its 32nd season in Atlanta, MYSO continues to be a fundamental part of the regional youth music community. Click HERE for more information.
